My Favourite Podcasts To Learn About Entrepreneurship

At the beginning of the year, I remember sitting down early one morning and just thinking to myself, that 2019 is going to be a year of learning and growing. The world is increasingly changing at some crazy speeds and here in the Caribbean, the avg person doesn’t know just how fast things are changing. The avg citizen believes there are no jobs when that couldn’t be further from the truth. There are many jobs and many emerging industries, most are simply not equipped with the skills needed for the next phase.

One of the most important decisions I made was to cut down on the amount of music I listen too and start listening to more podcasts. Its the only form of media that is passive. I can do other things while listening to podcasts. Finding the right podcasts have become key to my growth. I spoke about some of the books I have read to reshape my mindset to learn how I can grow in the digital age and now I want to show you some of the podcasts I listen to that have been incredible for me. Here are my favourite podcasts to learn about entrepreneurship and other skills needed for today’s market.

First of all, you are going to need a good podcast player. If you are on an iOs device than download Apple Podcasts. If you are using an Android device, I recommend Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Castbox. Castbox and Stitcher are great because you can sign in via Google or Facebook and login from your computer to see all of the podcasts you subscribe too. Here’s my list of favs:

  • The School of Greatness – Lewis Howes
  • Youpreneur – Chris Ducker
  • Entrepreneurs on Fire – John Lee Dumas
  • The Think Grow Podcast – Ruben Chavez
  • Black Entrepreneur Blueprint – Jay Jones
  • Breaking Into Startups
  • On Purpose – Jay Shetty
  • The Brendon Show – Brendon Burchard
  • Side Hustle School – Chris Guillebeau
  • The Courtney Sanders Show – Courtney Sanders

My favourite local podcasts are:

  • Caribbean Power Lunch – Kevin Valley

All of those podcasts I mentioned not only talk about Entrepreneurship but they also teach you the skills needed to grow in today’s digital age and get you into the right mindset to move with the times.

By far the podcast that has inspired me the most has been Black Entrepreneur Blueprint – Jay Jones. The first podcast I heard from him was on the White Supremacist Rally in Charlottesville in 2017 and why it should reinforce Black Entrepreneurship. That episode hit me on so many levels because growing up in Canada and being a victim of many racist situations because of the system, it hit me that living in the US/Canada/UK as a black man, we have ceilings that are forced upon us. Entrepreneurship and becoming self-reliant is how we can break through any barriers that anybody tries to put on us.

Youpreneur by Chris Ducker, School of Greatness by Lewis Howes and Entrepreneurs on Fire by John Lee Dumas, has also been amazing for me because of the number of key topics they discuss, the direction I have received and the number of things I have learned are just incredible.

One thing I have realized is that many folks here in the Caribbean are looking for direction and trying to figure out how to cut through the noise and learn relevant information for them to move forward. Most of my blogs are meant to send you down the rabbit hole of Google so that you can start learning at your own speed as well.

So if you are anything like me and chances are, if you have following my blogs, we are of similar mindsets, you are looking for more sources to continue your learning. Cut down on the amount of music you listen too, subscribe to some of these podcasts and learn all about online business, entrepreneurship, branding, how to build here in the Caribbean and much more.

If there are some great podcasts you listen too, drop it in the comments below, I am always on the lookout for some amazing podcasts.
