If you have been searching for how to set up your Visa Debit Card in Paypal in order to receive money, then you will want to check this video out.
If you are in Trinidad and Tobago, this is what you will need:
- JMMB or Venture Credit Union Visa Debit Card
- Enable Automatic Transfers on your account
The most important thing is to have your Visa Debit card from JMMB or Venture credit union. While Linx Visa Debit cards cannot be connected to Paypal, Visa credit cards except RBC’s can receive funds from Paypal.
Mastercards can also NOT receive funds from Paypal in the Caribbean. RBC has also blocked their Visa credit cards from receiving funds from Paypal as well.
If you are adding the Visa debit card for the first time, you will have the option to enable the automatic transfers and if you have registered your account already but are not able to receive payments, you will need to contact Paypal’s Account Specialist in order for them to activate the feature.
If you are someone who is trying to receive money internationally and when you are being sent the money, are getting an error message about government regulations or that your account is blocked from receiving money…You will need to contact Paypal support and do 2 things.
First, you will need to ensure that Automatic Transfers were setup, this is a MUST! Secondly, you must tell the account specialist the error you are getting when being sent funds and they will review your account to ensure it is set up to receive money.
All accounts in Trinidad and Tobago are usually blocked from receiving funds once Automatic Transfers is not enabled. So this will usually fix the block on your account but I always advise people to let Paypal know about the error you are getting so that they review your account.
I hope this helps and if you have any questions, feel free to drop it in the comment section and I’ll respond.
We will learn more about Ecommerce and using these cards to build our business in the upcoming Digital Age Show, for further information, check out the show website.
Great content
Can I use jmmb card to connect to cash app?
No, you can’t…Cashapp is not available in the Caribbean.
Thanks Keronrose.com for the info. Just one question for now. Other than the discontinued Republic prepaid credit card, any other options to receive payment in USD?
You would need to open up a bank account in the US.
Thank you for sharing. I may have missed it, but do I open a business paypal or personal?
Thank you in advance for your response.
Hey…it doesn’t matter which one you open. They will both do the same thing on a basic level, which is receiving money. The business account has more features that you can dive into though.
This is exactly the content I have been searching for for months! I tried linking my RBC Visa CC and the sender kept getting that error message about government regulations and I just could not receive the funds. I got the JMMB Visa Debit recently and I just linked my card following your steps. I’ll report back. I’m finally hopeful. Thanks again!
I just left a comment on one of your other posts and then came across this one. I have the RBC VISA credit card. So does this now mean I would need to get JMMB in order to receive funds? Thanks.
RBC has blocked paypal deposits into their Visa Cards. Yes, JMMB is a solution to receiving those Paypal funds.
Thanks for sharing! Should I open a personal, business or joint account in order to receive funds from PayPal?
JMMB only gives you a visa debit card with personal accounts.
Hi Keron,
I have a jmmb visa debit card and its attached to my paypal account, as it stands jmmb has a forex limit, with the paypal account, can one make purchases exceeding that limit?
My page is about making money…not spending it :)…no you cannot exceed the spending limit of JMMB.
So a personal savings account then?
Can I use my debit visa card from Royal Bank 2021,to transfer a large amount of funds from PayPal?
Nope, RBC has blocked PayPal.
Hi Keron this was very helpful do you have anything on on crypto transactions with JMMB?
Hey hey…naw, im not into crypto…so no info on it.
ok no worries thanks for your response.
