About Keron Rose

It’s A Pleasure To Meet You…

I moved to the beautiful island of Trinidad & Tobago at the end of 2013 and the journey I have been on has definitely been life-changing for me. I came from Canada with a unique mash of skills and the timing of my move to Trinidad, has allowed me to see the gaps in the Caribbean region that my skills would allow me to fill.

My goal now is simple, to help Caribbean Businesses in the region and diaspora to build their digital presence and monetize their platforms.

I do these in a variety of ways. From my blogs, podcast, workshops, my columns in the Jamaica Observer and Trinidad & Tobago Newsday, through teaching and much more.

Entrepreneurial Journey

Left my full time job to start a business called "Gadget Geeks" with a family friend. It was my first foray into the business world and while I had to leave the business within 4 months due to disputes, it was a great experience and ultimately set me on my own path.
I took a job at Digicel as a Sales Manager for Digicel Play. I had also started my blog "Droid Island" and focused on creating content around the smartphone industry in the Caribbean. 1 month after launching the blog, I got my first feature on CNC3 for Tech Thursdays.
The Droid Island blog became popular and I decided to save up and open up the Droid Island phone store in June 2017 and quit my job at Digicel. In Sept, I also landed my first brand collaboration with Huawei Trinidad and began producing more content.
Due to the growth of my Droid Island Blog & Youtube channel, B-Mobile contacted me to begin working with them as a Content Creator and also a trainer for their mobile sales reps. I also launched KeronRose.com for my Bday in Dec.
The Keron Rose platform began growing and I was offered new corporate opportunities. I took a job offer as a Manager in Flow and I decided to work everyday on my business for 6 months, while investing my salary into the Keron Rose brand. I began hosting workshops on the weekend in Haagan-Daz. The CEO of Eastern Credit Union got wind of it and we began bringing my workshops to the ECU base...I quit Flow in Dec to focus on my partnerships.
The pandemic hit and it gave me the opportunity to really put all of my skills I learned over the years into practice. After building an E-Commerce business and becoming a Content Creator & SEO specialist, I was able to help Caribbean Entrepreneurs navigate through the pandemic & launched my live webshow...The Digital Age. The year capped off with me hosting TedxPORTOFSPAIN.
Whilst we are still writing the history of 2021, the first half of the year has allowed me to continue with the momentum of 2020 and I've been able to speak at over 20 international events for the year & host a wide array of workshops, most notably the series with Unit Trust Corp. I also launched the Digipreneur FM Podcast and hit 2000 downloads in the 1st month.
Launched the Digipreneur Column with the Trinidad & Tobago Newsday and The Jamaica Observer. Became the host of The Digital World on Guardian Media's 106.5fm radio station. The Digipreneur FM podcast became a top 10 podcast on Apple Podcasts in Trinidad, Jamaica and Dominica. I also joined the University of South Florida's Advisory Group for the Digital Marketing Program.
